Valentine Living Room Decorating Ideas
Welcome to Valentine's 2019 Living Room Reveal!
I'm kind of IN LOVE with how this room turned out!!!
It's romantic, yet fun; formal, yet whimsical… and if you look at the next photo, SO EASY to transform from what I had up for Christmas!
Let's face it, putting up decor is WORK and VERY time-consuming!!
That's why I try, wherever possible, to "TRANSFORM" rather than "RECREATE"!! And with Valentine's Day being so close to when we usually take down Christmas, it is a no-brainer in my book!!!
As you can see, I left the Christmas garland intact! Valentines Day is considered in the "winter season" so leaving up a flocked garland is perfectly fine!! I simply replaced the JOY sign with an XOXO sign, removed everything "Christmas-y," and replaced those items with red and pinkROSES, red and pinkHEARTS, a HEART GARLAND and CUPIDS!
TA-DAH!!!! And SO EASY!!!

Next….. On to the VALENTINES TREE!!
Once again, I made it easy on myself!!
I simply REMOVED all the peppermint candies and elves and REPLACED them with various RED HEARTS!

For the tree topper, I REMOVED the candy canes, the red gingham ribbon (I probably could've even left that!), and the ball ornaments, and REPLACED them with RED ROSES and HEART PICKS!
The name of the game here is BE NICE TO YOURSELF! Because Valentine's Day is not considered a "major holiday" (although I think anything involving LOVE should be!!) and we are a little tired from Christmas, just TRANSFORM what you can!!
My friend Amy at BaBam Wreaths always sends me a new wreath for every holiday!! I have to admit I get just a little giddy when I see that big box arrive! I tell her the direction I am going with my decor and then let her do her magic!! She always makes me happy!
OK…… DECORATING TIP!!!!
Are the flowers below real or Faux? It's REALLY hard to tell, right?
They are FAUX! Here is my tip…. buy faux flowers that look as real as you can possibly find, put them is a clear vase and then
ADD WATER!!!
Unless you are buying a stem that is not plastic, and I think you would have to look pretty hard to find one that isn't, it will not hurt the flowers to add water and it makes it look so much more real………….. BECAUSE WHO IS CRAZY ENOUGH TO ADD WATER TO FAUX FLOWERS?
WE ARE!!! Giggle 🙂

How SWEET is this sofa?
It is simple and elegant, and yet with the use of different textures and colors on the pillow fabrics, it is perfect for Valentines!!
Heart pillows | square pillows
When I told my husband I wanted to paint this cabinet PINK, he thought I was a little "touched"; but over the years he has learned to trust my gut on things like this, so he told me to go-for-it!
PERSONAL NOTE: Don't be afraid to risk a little with your decor! The last thing we want is a house that looks like everyone else's!! BE BOLD!!! And for heaven's sake, don't just do all white because that is the trend! If you LOVE all white then do it; but if you love color (or a specific color) USE IT!! You live there…. not anyone else! Make your home an expression of YOU and YOUR FAMILY! I always let me kids decide on the decor in their rooms, that is why we have a climbing rope into the attic in one, a literal tree (with a ladder you can climb into a fort) in another, a slime factory in another, and a bed that is not only a bed but a fort, a desk, a chest of drawers, and the best hiding place in the house – all in one structure (yes, it was custom made)! I DON'T CARE if I break a few decorating rules in the process! If we love it, that is what matters!!
OK…. I got a little passionate there! I'm back….. where are we? Oh yes, the pink cabinet!!
I'm in LOVE!!!

As most of you know, my daughter, Tiffany , is engaged to the AMAZING (we affectionately refer to him as "Wonderboy") Adam Moffitt ! I have loved to watch (and listen to) them sit at the piano and sing together!! We snapped this photo on a Sunday afternoon when Dallas (Tiff's dog) decided he wanted a little attention too!
So cute!!

McKenna Kate and Sam have obviously graduated from this piano to the real piano, but I just can't let it go!! And it has become the perfect place to create little "stories" with decor!
Can't you just see what's happening here? Teddy is diligently practicing his piano as his mother affectionately looks on! (I wish my face was that serene when I am "looking on" while my kids practice!!)
Finally… Remember to decorate your LAMPS!
Lamps provide such a fun space to decorate! Once again look at the lamps for Christmas verses the lamps for Valentine's Day…. it was an EASY transformation!
I hope I have given you some ideas to think about! Have FUN with Valentine's Day decor!!
But, far more important than the decorations, let your family know how much you LOVE them!!!
Remember if you don't say the words I LOVE YOU , they may not know you do!!
GOAL : Let's all say those three words every day to every member of our family from this day forward until Valentine's Day 2020!!
Hugs… Jennifer
